UC Davis
Major: Students enter undeclared into the college of their choice (i.e., College of Letters in Science)

Average GPA for Incoming Freshman: 3.94 (weighted)

Average SAT for Incoming Freshman: 1876

Applications: Available in October at http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/apply

Necessary tests: Applicants are required to take the SAT or ACT with writing, as well as two different subject tests for the SAT II.  If applicants choose to take math as a subject test, they must take Math II.

CSU Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
Major: Students need to declare their majors when they apply.

Average GPA for Incoming Freshman: 3.97 (weighted)

Average SAT for Incoming Freshman: SAT scores differ by college.  For the College of Math and Science, the average SAT is 1287 on a 1600 scale.  (The writing portion of the exam is not counted.)

Applications: Available in October at csumentor.edu

Necessary Tests: Applicants are required to take the SAT or the ACT.  Neither the writing portions nor the SAT II are required.
